Application Method

Standard operating procedure for Plaster Application

Apply plaster on the background and make it free from dust by brushing with broom. It should also be washed clean the traces of mould oil. More spread and higher coverage is got by wetting the surface prior to application.

DF Gypsum Plaster is mixed with water to form a paste. The plaster should be mixed with water and not to be done the other way. To have a right mix the ratio of water to plaster should be 1 part of water and 1.5 part of plaster. Depending upon the requirement, prepare the plaster mix.

Do not add additional dry material once the mix has begun to set because the performance properties of the plaster will get altered.

Do not use wet brush on the finished surface, as that would spoil the surface by leaving permanent brush marks.

A single coat should not exceed 13mm in thickness, if the required thickness is more than 13mm, additional plaster coats should be applied but a single coat should not exceed 13mm in thickness.

It would normally take approx 72 hours to dry, based on the thickness and weather conditions. Once dried, the surface is ready for painting.

Storage & Handling

DF Gypsum Plaster is packed in 20Kg bags. The bag is ergonomically designed to make storage and handling easier. The ergonomically designed bags assist in keeping neatly stacked pallets. Special care needs to be taken to ensure dry storage conditions, as moisture shortens the setting time, causes lumps/ nodule formation in the bags and therefore may affect the strength of the set plaster work. Usage of hooks or any sharp tools should be avoided while moving bags from one location to another.
